Special Events: Learn to Read Jacksonville has 3 annual special events to benefit our programs: * Kiss the Pig for Literacy - Spring event Click here for more information about donating and/or participating in LTR's Special Events. Matching Gifts: A way to double your gift is through a matching gift program with your employer. An employee matching gift program allows the employer to match a gift donated to LTR by one of its employees. This type of gift can double or triple the donation and is very much appreciated. Many companies will not only match gifts from current employees but will also match gifts from retired employees, spouses or members of their board of directors. Check with your company for its matching gift policy. Most forms are available in your company's Human Resources office. Payroll Deduction: We accept gifts through the United Way Contributor Choice Plan, the Combined Federal Campaign, and Florida State Employees Charitable Contribution. Contact your local agency to designate Learn to Read Jacksonville as your program of choice. Learn to Read's United Way designation number is 00283 and our CFC designation number is 5039C. Memorial and Tribute Donations: A donation can be made in memory of an individual who has passed away. A card will be sent to the family of the deceased in recognition of your gift. The amount of the donation will not be indicated. Donations can also be made in honor of a special occasion such as a birth, anniversary, birthday, or special celebration. A card acknowledging the gift will be sent in to the individual(s), the amount will not be indicated. Planned Gifts - Bequests: Supporters are reminded to keep us in mind when preparing wills. Proper wording to make a bequest is as follows: "I give, devise and bequeath to Learn to Read, Inc., a Jacksonville not-for-profit corporation with the offices presently located at 2747 Art Museum Dr. Ste. 100, Jacksonville, Florida 32207, County of Duval, the sum of $____________ to be administered by the said Learn to Read, Inc. for its charities purposes." To make this bequest as a memorial, use the following wording: "I make this bequest as a memorial to be known as the (insert name)". |
